UPDATE: It occurred to me to add a note. The list of reasons that I cited in the beginning is a list of hypotheticals (some mutually exclusive) that people often fall on to define their “worth.” I was not talking directly about myself there. I hope you didn’t assume that I consider the you know what to be safe and effective. I hope you know me a little bit by now… :) Anyway.
This story is about “worth,” in psychological terms. I like to think about what the words that we use to define ourselves and others actually mean. Thought experiments like this one come in handy when we try to understand ourselves for real. They come in handy when we try to find the origins of our worldviews, our choices, our relationships, our circumstance.
The way I see it, an honest understanding of who we are is not some kind of a fluffy luxury. It is crucial to our very existence, especially during the times like now. The better we understand ourselves, the easier it is for us to tackle any challenges that life may send our way, including “the great reset.”
Which is to say, my philosophical explorations are very practical. Everything in the visible world comes from the invisible world. Clarity matters. A human being may spend a very long time chasing feelings and concepts that might have been deliberately confused and distorted by the people who want to control the world.
The good news for all of us is that it is in our power to stop running, ask ourselves what we are chasing, why we are chasing it, and whether it even exists in a way we were taught about it early in our lives.
Digging into the notion of “worthiness” is a good start! I hope my short impromptu talk inspires you to go in and look at things from the inside.
On my end, I would like to hear what you find…
