This is super cliche, but the most important elections are the ones closest to you. That means local school board, local school budget and then local elections. This whole system trickles upward from reality to Hollywood. What we watched the other night was essentially cheap tv. The person at the top should have very little power to change your life. We need to work much closer to home to ensure things stay that way.
On another note, dealing with trauma is hard. I get it. But for me, the way to deal with it is not to dwell on the past or try to figure out what past thing hurts me so much, but to learn from those things what I need to focus on my future such that I can easily deal with the things that come rushing at me.

In addition, the Framers of the Constitution wrote extensively about the intentions and meaning of the Constitution, so no judge or other official can claim that the meaning of the Constitution is unclear.
They are all required to swear / affirm an Oath to support it. It is their responsibility to make certain that they have read & understood what they are taking an oath to support.

Personally, I don't believe in general elections because it looks like a typical sleight-of-hand brought about by Enlightenment activists within the last two-three centuries: talk about Universal Suffrage, make it into a shibboleth, bring it about, while simultaneously making sure that it has no impact whatsoever on the ruling class.
