Heresy! Skeptical Political Thoughts of a Soviet Expat
Borrowing a quote from my friend Dr. John Day, it's "rats all the way down." :)
As a Soviet expat, I am barely moved (okay, not moved at all) by all the commotion in the news and in my social media feeds. I have lived through color revolutions, coups, financial “reforms,” what not. I have learned to not care.
All my friends are like, “What really happened to Trump?!!! Is Biden alive?!!!!” And I am like, “What I am having for dinner tonight has more practical impact on my life than the status of those two high-visibility guys (okay, low-visibility for Biden in the past few days, or rather no visibility for Biden in the past few days, true). But regardless. They are talking heads! They are talking heads! They are….
And again, I don’t go to war with anyone about those things. I don’t have to be “right.” I will gladly give you a hug and have a drink of tea with you absolutely regardless of your political views. But as far as my own political views, I don’t think that all this matters that much. I think that the real battle is happening in the spiritual realm, and by that, I don’t mean the need to adopt a set of talking points or a prescribed theological view.
I started writing a series on healing childhood trauma for a reason. I realized that the real battle is happening around people’s trauma. It is people’s trauma that the aspiring masters with not-so-good intentions (aka “globalists”) weaponize up the wazoo and exploit through the roof. It is people’s insecurities and a deeply rooted sense of being unseen and unloved that they use to divide and conquer, and keep us distracted, stuck in the never-ending act of pointing fingers at somebody else while not looking at the ONE thing that they are afraid we start looking at, which is our unhealed parts.
They, the aspiring masters, know very well that when we start healing for real (not for show but for real), when we get whole, there is nothing they can do to successfully trick or manipulate us for long.
They know energy. They deal with energy. Healing trauma and thinking from the inside are what they really don’t want us to do because they know that it would be the end of their power.
Back to the current news cycle though … it’s all fine, we all have our feelings and opinions, I have my feelings and opinions, too! But the truth is—everything is energy, remember?—the truth is, when we spend too much of our very valuable energy on them, that’s the energy that we have not spent on us.
Methinks, neither one of those two fine gentlemen want to fix your life. They don’t want to, and I am not even sure they can. That’s the bad news. The good news is that you have the power to use your brilliant brain and start figuring out what to do and whom to do it with—and for that, you don’t need any talking heads.
The end.
PS. It is only July 22, and I’ve already seen several refurbished pantsuit memes!! :(

You hit the nail on the head! And the wonderful thing is that, for me, once I started going deeper into myself (not just thru the head, but thru the body and heart as well) my life became richer and I wasn't so prone to get caught up into things I couldn't do anything about anyway.
Funny, we must be in sync about this... I just wrote a piece about The Need for a Savior. Basically, no one can save us. On a deeper existential place, we don't need saving. Anyone who says they can is, well, not our friend.
