Reminds me of the early covid advice. Got covid? Stay home until your so sick you can hardly breathe, then come in so that we can stick you on a ventilator.

That was my first thought, too, but (I know) the Twitter account looks like the account of a real hospital. https://twitter.com/BCChildrensHosp

I don't think sick people should be interfering with the practice of medicine. That way they can "Do no harm."

That's an excellent point, Elliot. How selfish of them, who do they think they are,

"patients" or something?

No, it's legitimate. That's precisely what was on every Drs surgery website and go practice door, here in Australia.

Despicable, cowardly and as a health professional- unforgivable!

that was my idea too. But the last 3 times I went to the doctor they could not help me. The first time it was waved away, and only recently, the doctor herself refused to help and the nurse later on, told me to go to the pharmacy and get something and do it myself. And then they hope you will trust them? A friend and her family have not gone for 10 years and are very healthy. When they have something they look it up online, and if they need meds, they find a doctor willing to prescribe it long-distance! works for them, will work for us all.

Wow, Ingrid! Refused? Wow.

yep. a clogged up ear. but she was very willing to prescribe me heart, blood pressure and diabetes meds, none of which I need. Due to the infection the values were up and a doctor should know that. She wanted to forward me to a specialist who would be able to see me in 2 months... great help right! She said the air was a self-inflicted ailment, due to unprotected swimming. Have not been swimming in 10 years

Ingrid - I can’t “like” this comment because it’s so very tragic.

It used to worry me that my sister never went to the doctor for a yearly physical. Little did I know that she had it right all along.

“Healthcare”. What a colossus farce.

That ad actually saves lives!! Bringing a child to a hospital these days increases their chances of getting jabbed with toxic potions or losing their genitals to the ghouls who work there. A rare instance of good unintended consequences!

It used to be that hospitals were places where the staff was at least trying to help the patients get well, usually. But now the system has become inverted: Hippocratic medicine has given way to Collectivist medicine where, in order to create a manageable and sustainable future for all (all the survivors, that is) the population must sadly be reduced to carrying capacity. Thus hospitals will fulfill their new prime directive, which is to kill people, while seeming not to do so.

That's hilarious and quite likely good advice! After all let the fever run it's course, do it's work. Let your kid rest, that's what he needs! And pretty soon the masses realized that getting your kid a throat culture every time they had a sore throat, when maybe they just needed a good cry for the past five years, or three, or whatever...

(disclaimer: this is not medical advice... but neither was that...)

me afraid of drs & hospitals, would rather cold compresses & low dose Tylenol.

Skip the Tylenol, your liver will thank you!

Yeah, I wouldn't even use Tylenol anymore myself.

It's felt to me that so many of us go into a panic and don't have a basic understanding of how our bodies work.

I used to have a neighbor who would take her kids to their health clinic at the least sign of anything. (although with her history that's understandable) I also remember her smearing her youngest's head with some kind of bug repellent before he went off with friends for an adventure.

Yes, parents of today think their children should never get sick, or have even minor injuries. When I was a kid (I’m 66), parents avoided taking kids to the doctor, unless a cut truly needed stitches or a broken bone, etc. when we came down with an illness, they nursed us back to health and got us back to school ASAP. No drama, just practicality and common sense. And no parent was afraid of measles or chicken pox; those were merely an expected inconvenience, and then they were glad we were immune from then on.

I have seen this as well. I'm 65, right behind you.

I remember my father (a complicated damaging and loving man), rubbing me down I believe with rubbing alcohol. Because I had a fever and was hallucinating. He was right there, not freaked out.

Tylenol is toxic AF. And they put it in everything so most people don't realize they are taking in dangerous doses. It's been known to accidently poison the liver in moderate doses. Funny thing is NAC and one of it's products, gluthianone (sp?) are used to counteract acetominiphen OD's.

I usually advise people to take aspirin if they can tolerate it, at least it's been around for over 100 years and we have a pretty good idea of it's actions on the human body.

I've been on a 20-year campaign to let people know acetaminophen is not harmless. My four-year-old had to be life flighted due to liver failure and spent five days in intensive care, where a liver transplant was one of the possibilities. Thankfully he recovered. Turned out he had had pneumonia, but before I knew that, the over-the-counter pediatric cough medicine I was giving him contained acetaminophen. The liver specialist calculated he was getting a 1/3 dose for his body weight — but because he had not been eating, it killed 1/3 of his liver before it reversed.

Our whole medical system needs to be taken down worldwide.

As my husband was having a prostrate biopsy a coupe of months ago the Dr’s & Nurses were chatting

About One of Their Recent Vacations

When the plane was taxiing, the plane was misted

They joked.

More Toxins, More Cancers and More Money for Us.

How do you think my husband felt?

This is No Joke and an Actual Fact.

Do you know there is an actual cure for cancer?

Do you know how how many Nutrition Course Medical Personnel are Required to Take?

Even though this post by the hospital seems hilarious and ludicrous, it does indeed reflect reality. Starting somewhere around 20 years or so ago, one can no longer see their primary doctor for a ‘sick’ appointment. I’m old enough to remember when doctors kept some appointment times open for sick patients (and remember ‘walk ins’?) but now if you call to get in ‘today’ because you’re sick, they’ll say something like, ‘doctor can see you in three weeks’. To which I would reply, ‘well, by then I’ll either be all better, or dead, so never mind, and thanks for nothing.’ As we all know, they now just refer us to urgent care or emergency room (no thanks, if I was bleeding to death I would’ve already done that myself). Obviously, they’re all filled up with ‘well visits’, so they can listen to symptoms and prescribe pills and shots for everything. I now only see a functional medicine MD, who owns and runs her own clinic - no insurance accepted.
