What is my motivation? Fear is a pretty strong motivator.
What does it take for me to actually plan, start, continue, and maybe finish a constructive and voluntary project?
How long do I think and plan before starting?
What is the crystalizing event that motivates a physical beginning, after a concept is present and developed?
This is different for all of us, but each of us has some threshold for fearless constructive activity.
Can we do this on our own? Do we need to be part of a group that does this?
I have been able to try projects myself, out of thoughtful curiosity, my whole life.
I realize that most people are not as curious, and motivated to try-things-out, but most people do take actions, alone and in groups.
Growing a kitchen garden is a very good place to start, a place which resonates our natural drives, and our relationships with food-plants and seasons, work, soil, lone work and also cooperation.
When we are working with others on our own sustaining projects, especially growing vegetables, we are less prone to being manipulated through fear and isolation, to do the work-projects of our owners, who do not love us at all, but see us as abstractions, as their "property".

Maintaining integrity with our innate source of love within seems to be the strongest, most powerful, most needed thing to do in these traumatic times. Thank you Tessa, I have really enjoyed your words this morning. Each morning sitting in zazen, I often see a light that rises. I focus on this light ascending and merging with all other lights that we create; in fact lights that we really are. They going around my neighbourhood and out across my country and across the world. to all, even to the tyrants who live with their miserable belief-system that thy are more entitled that every one and everything else. Nothing in the universe is more important than something else. Only the mind of man claims that... All is light, and I get the feeling that we don't need to seek it, because it there, living and breathing in everything.

In my case, I pray for alignment with the powerful and all-embracing force of life, whatever it is, in order to bring forth wisdom and compassion and vitality to feed the positive aspects of my being, to become a positive force in the eternal battle to establish the sanctity and dignity of life at the center of everything.
I try not to feed the 'tyrant in the mirror', I try to feed and boost the warrior of light who can break the shackles of ignorance, anger and greed, and pray to be able to positively affect my environment in the direction of pure freedom and happiness.
I very much like what you wrote about victory bringing us confidence. I totally agree. It resonates with my beliefs.
Every daily effort crowned with victory is happiness embodied.
