Ouch. Tough to argue with you. Oftentimes we all forget, some regain their memories and others cannot. When we cannot we know the robots have won. You remain undefeated it seems!
It’s very odd to watch, the world whiz around me. Everything so busy and covered in cars. Most people are on auto pilot, doing what they can to get through the working day. It all seems perfectly normal when you are “getting through your day”. But if you slow right down, like I often do, you see things. You see the curves of the shadows, the balance in things, the texture of things, the truth of things. I think slowing down, even stopping entirely is a great countermeasure to the machine. It confuses the machine people no end though… “Don’t you have somewhere to be? Why aren’t you stressed like everyone else? Why are you talking to me? What is it you want?” So a great way to combat the machine is to stop. This is very hard though. The machine makes you feel guilty if you are not constantly participating in the mad scurry. It will penalise you for stopping. It will try to starve you and shame you. But have a go anyway. The things you discover are worth it. Great writing as usual Tessa. X
