"Green" Technology: Creating Reduced Graphene Oxide Using Coffee Leaves
If "green" stands for the color of money, then yes, green
This story is a short philosophical remark about the wobbly state of the world.
Remember we talked about how graphene and graphene derivatives are “positioned” to find their way into absolutely everything in the world—their potentially significant biological toxicity be damned?
I am sharing the gem below to illustrate the point. A group of researchers propose creating reduced graphene oxide using young coffee leaves, and they call the process “green.” (In chemistry, the term “reduction” has to do with transfer or electrons, “reduce” is not the same as “decontaminate.”)
Now, this is just a scientific paper, an experiment in using coffee leaves to reduce graphene oxide. The existence of this paper does not mean in any way that your morning coffee now comes with graphene oxide. :) However, it speaks of just how far we have gone into the upside-down world.
Young Coffea arabica/rGO nanocomposite can be used to design an effective antioxidant and anti-inflammatory drug which can be applied to healing various inflammation and aging diseases. It is expected to further optimize the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of young Coffea arabica/rGO nanocomposite for biomedical applications in the future. [GRRRREAT!]
Yeah, the team of researchers might just be trying to publish something with their name on it, they might just be “tapping into the buzzwords.” Yeah, it’s lovely that reduced GO allegedly has anti-inflammatory properties, etc. But surely, we need all this, and we can’t just use herbs or, God forbid, stop poisoning the world! (It is not us poisoning the world, it’s the wretched aspiring masters. It’s their business model. But it’s us who are now stuck with detoxing our bodies from their poisons for rest of our lives!)
A note to readers: If you are in the position to do so, I very much encourage you to become a paid subscriber or donate. I love you in any case, but it helps A LOT, and I am in a dire need to get more donations and paid subscribers while keeping my posts free. Thank you from my heart for your support!
But is it "organic" graphene oxide if you use organic coffee leaves?
ACK!
:-o
Hey, if they can put aluminum in everything and call it safe, they might as well poison us with graphene too
