These words have haunted me since March 2020.
It is evident that the mass-production and mass-consumption of the last century are no longer profitable to those people who promoted both (regardless of the human and environmental costs) in order to enrich themselves. The tipping point of debt that powered the outgoing system was reached in 2008. After which point, I suspect, concrete plans for the current pseudopandemic were made. Since 2008 the debt-based system has been artificially, and only temporarily, propped up by so-called „Quantitative Easing“.
The new system that is planned - the 4th Industrial Revolution, the Great Reset, whatever you want to call it - has no requirement for mass-production or mass-consumption as economic drivers. Hence, the masses (ie you and I) are no longer needed; in fact, we are seen as a positive threat to the success of the new system and must be made harmless through reduction in numbers and technological control.
Basically, I believe that what we have been witnessing since March 2020 has been a preemptive strike by the 0.001% against the rest of the human race as they knew that if they didn’t strike first their fortunes, and possibly even their lives, would be forfeit when the 99.999% realised that they had been the dupes of a rigged pyramid scheme that left them and their children in the end owning absolutely nothing and no better than slaves.
It seems like someone somewhere has gotten tired of pretending that we are free people. The theater play indeed has gotten to expensive in their minds!!! But I don't think the outcome is decided. We are free people from birth, and we have our hearts!!!!

These are the same forces that don't care if you and your family are homeless, living under a freeway overpass and dumpster diving for your next meal - but they expect you and I to believe that the covid related mayhem and associated ongoing assault on our freedoms are because - "they care about us" so very very much.
Ditto. Arrogance becomes cruel, then vicious, when it feels threatened. I'm sure this started with vain phantasies of benevolence, but, the latent contempt inherent in those beliefs is now showing its ugly face. And, this is just the beginning, because there are simply no moral values to constrain them.
This useless eater notes that the ultra rich get most of their "income" from stocks'n'shares (and worthless stuff like gold-backed ETFs).
The next crash will hurt these types a lot more than it will hurt you and me.
That they wish to avoid this discomfort is what, I believe, has brought us to this point.

Thank you, Tessa Lena, for reminding me of Ernst Wolff. Half a year ago I 'forgot' about him as I found his (well-wrought...) impromptus too depressing; but he is an important voice. In a German podcast, he made the astute point that K. Schwab could've helped de-escalate the proxy war in Ukraine, he had the clout to invoke his influence to that effect - but did not. Of course not. We can't expect him to. His ideology militates against such a stance.
That said, I find the Digital Financial Complex more frightening than anything... How can one say NO or speak up against such a monstrous scheme?
That's an eternal (modern) question, how to escape the panopticon, or fascist rule. In theory, one can live on barter. Also in theory, commissars can come and confiscate everything. I think that's the reason why it's important to resist while the beast is still not its strongest!
