But, do not lose sight of the fact that their purpose in the actions they took against this MP is meant to chill speech....and even if the objections to the MP’s tweet are now withdrawn the chilling effect will not dissipate. Rather people will watch what they say so as to avoid a similar headache. Just as many who objected to the vaccines learned to do so quietly so as not to be constantly berated and shunned in the public square. It is human nature to avoid pain and injustice.
