First things first. It’s sad to think about it but the Soviet Union of my childhood has officially arrived in my adopted homeland. It’s here. One can point fingers at China or Russia but the budding totalitarian order is right here, all around us.
The other day, I saw two middle-aged women angrily bicker with each other on the overcrowded train because one woman felt like the other one shouldn’t have tried to get on. And that, I reassure you, is the very essence of the Soviet Union—angry citizens bickering with each other on the overcrowded trains and buses.
Are we just waiting now for the stuff to gradually disappear from the shelves, for the lines to get longer, and for the people to get angrier and lazier? Time will tell.
On my end, I am taking it day by day, enjoying every drop of life, and praying that the habit of entitled consumerism, out of all things, will prevent America from turning into a full-on Soviet Union. I think that the habit of consumerism and the guns are the only things that are currently stopping the totalitarians. But they, the state and corporate totalitarians, ain’t fools, and they are dutifully training the kids to look down on their parents, to blame their parents for Greta’s climate emergency (not the BlackRock investors but their parents), and to think that in the new, equitable society they would be in the driver’s seat (what a disappointment it will be for the kids of today to learn that their role in the new “equitable” society is of disposables).
“Information disorder”: the debate
What made me think of the Soviet Union this morning was this (Robert Rosenkranz’s) Intelligence Squared US Debates debate on the “Information Disorder.” The panelists are two cold-eyed predators (one possibly not okay in the head), a broad-shouldered dude who is just happy to be accepted by the Machine, and a man who says some reasonable things while being generally the member of the same club.
I am giving you a five-year-old-like description of the debate because I want your heart to survive. And yes, one of the cold-eyed predators is the head of the failed American Ministry of Truth.
If you have enough nervous cells or at least some soap and water handy to wash off the depravity after watching this debate, go straight ahead.
(It is kinda hilarious how human beings who to want to dominate choose to ascribe their personal preferences to God, to The Science, or to “our democracy.” Times change, talking points change—but the methodology remains.)

Do you remember the spooky stories about the horrible Soviet KGB, using fake psychiatric diagnoses to hide the dissidents away?
Well, meet this 2020 “study” out of Nepal:
Out of all common conspiratorial ideations the author picked the ones I haven’t even heard of:
”For instance, misinformation on COVID-19 includes, a list is long such as, “viruses are scared of acid, use a cotton bud with strong vinegar/sesame oil and stick it inside your nose”; “stop wearing woolen clothes”, and “use eight pods of garlic for prevention.”
And it is probably the case that doctors and researchers are happy to scribble any trendy-sounding nonsense as long as it gets accepted for publication and they get a “career point” out of it—but it was accepted for publication! Damn it, it was accepted for publication!
Psychiatric meds for the unvaccinated?
At this point in time, despite the text of the tweet, this is not a mandate but allegedly a recommendation coming from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario for all doctors to maybe consider psychiatric medication for their “unvaccinated” patients.
On their website, they are saying the following:
It is also important that physicians work with their patients to manage anxieties related to the vaccine and not enable avoidance behaviour. For example, for extreme fear of needles (trypanophobia) or other cases of serious concern, responsible use of prescription medications and/or referral to psychotherapy may be available options. Overall, physicians have a responsibility to allow their patients to be properly informed about vaccines and not have those anxieties empowered by an exemption.
In order to see the absurdity of all this one has to, frankly, just be a sane human being. But if one were pressured to come up with a “rational” argument against this fascism, one could just read any one book on environmental movements. It always takes decades to expose the poisons! It always does! Even when there is no fascism! And probably much longer under fascism… So yes, disgusting, all of this is disgusting.

Sanity, restored for a second
I want to look at just the first paragraph of yet another story about “information disorder” and then provide some facts that prove the dishonesty of propaganda.
Is Invermectin [sic] safer than the COVID vaccines? Will the vaccines make me infertile? I hear that the COVID-19 vaccines change your DNA, is that true? News reporters, doctors, nurses, and the scientific community have been correcting this sort of inaccurate information since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Well, let’s see.

Gaslighting
Here is ultimate gaslighting. I am livid. War is peace, up is down.
Here is a “study” claiming that the side effects of the (of course) safe and effective COVID injection result from … wait for it .. misinformation. According to the authors, scared little buggers get strokes and heart attacks and blurry vision after vaccination because they are … scared.
Please tell it to Maddie, the child who enthusiastically enrolled into the Pfizer trial and ended up crippled (and abandoned my Pfizer). Please also tell it to my two personal friends who enthusiastically got the injection, one nearly died the same day, and the other one is still severely injured.
My heart is bleeding, and my blood is boiling.
Misinformation perpetuated by the anti-vaccination movement may be causing more deaths and side effects from any vaccine. A mini review of published literature has been conducted and found that mental stress clearly causes vasoconstriction and arterial constriction of the blood vessels. Therefore, if subjects are panicked, concerned, stressed or scared of the vaccination, their arteries will constrict and become smaller in and around the time of receiving the vaccine. This biological mechanism (the constriction of veins, arteries and vessels under mental stress) is the most likely cause for where there has been blood clots, strokes, heart attacks, dizziness, fainting, blurred vision, loss of smell and taste that may have been experienced shortly after vaccine administration. The extreme mental stress of the patient could most likely be attributed to the fear mongering and scare tactics used by various anti-vaccination groups.
“The psychiatric diagnosis has been issued. Prepare your buttocks for the injection. And while you are at it, please note that, according to your carbon tracker, you’ve eaten too much meat this month, and too few insects. And if you have any objections to the carbon tracker, we’ll adjust your psychiatric diagnosis.”

One of your best, Tessa. Did you know that here in New Zealand, despite the 'turning tide' of even the FDA and others, doctors are being attacked for prescribing or obtaining or suggesting the use of Ivermectin? These doctors should get medals for helping their patients; instead they are vilified and their licences are under siege. I call it antediluvian totalitarianism from the corrupt Medical Council and Ministry of Health here.
Don't forget Dr. Francis Christian, Pediatric surgeon working for a Saskatchewan children's hospital, who was fired and had his license lifted for questioning Covid vax safety and talking sense about ivermectin, then told he needed psychiatric evaluation and treatment for his obviously justified reaction to the sudden attack by the medical Gestapo. And there was a somewhat elderly physician in British Columbia who spoke out about the risk to pregnant women and was snatched from his home, taken to hospital and incarcerated in a psychiatric ward in Vancouver, drugged without consent, and held against his will for almost a week while his family and colleagues tried frantically to get him released. Dr. Steven Malthouse was menaced with being forced to have a psychiatric evaluation for questioning the narrative. In fact the medical regulatory authorities in every province are just as bad as the one in Ontario. In the Greater Toronto Area, a compounding pharmacy has an 8-month backlog for filling hundreds of ivermectin prescriptions - written by MDs and NPs for themselves, which they can apparently do without being punished by their College. Ordinary people can't get an MD or NP to write the Rx because the College has forbidden doctors to write ivermectin Rx for patients unless it's for lab-confirmed helminth or scabies infestation. Which is Catch-22 because you can't get lab tests for parasites in Ontario.
