I am working on a long article but in the meanwhile, I’d like to share a thoughtful and beautifully written essay by my friend Anaïs Tekerian, to whom I am willing to sing odes because she is an inspiring, strong, loving and deeply moral human being (and by “moral” I don’t mean anything theoretical or grafted from the outside but the innate desire to listen to one’s soul and do what the soul feels is right). The essay is on the longer side and packed with beauty, through and through. And here is my interview with her from some time ago.
And since she wrote about good and evil, here is my take from some time ago.
And here is a timeless artistic collaboration between Anaïs and Kevork Mourad, a soul-shattering cry.
My prayer:
May the world heal.
May the tears dry, and joy come back in full.
May the world heal.
May we help it heal, and do it with total love.
May we remember who we are and act accordingly.
May the nurturing warmth mother us through and through.
May we heal.

Thank you for sharing your friend's writing. She writes truth from her heart.
anais and kevork, what an auspicious collaboration.
i remember watching her group zulal at golden fest in around 2017 and loving their haunting, otherworldly music. had no idea that she would also be such a fierce mama bear and as just as powerful a writer.
and can't help but wonder what else our attention might have been deliberately diverted from on halloween night that year - or who paid off the lunatic with the truck on the west side highway...
