History and the Ghost of 4IR: A Conversation with Hrvoje of Geopolitics & Empire
Living and laughing during “interesting times.”
This story, despite everything, is a lighthearted conversation about the “interesting times.”
I recently had the pleasure to interview Hrvoje, the host of “Geopolitics and Empire” (whose podcast I love).
Just before I interviewed him, Hrvoje interviewed me—and our conversation was so much fun that I just had to do a follow-up.
Hrvoje and I talked about his childhood spent between America and Yugoslavia, about the weird state of the world, about the ghost of the Fourth Industrial Revolution soaring over Mexico where he lives today, and about the philosophical meaning of all this.
By the way, I highly recommend Hrvoje’s podcast, it’s really interesting and done with intellectual rigor and passion.
Without further ado, here is the interview:
The path through these interesting times is not pre-ordained. Our paths through these times are not yet walked, together and alone. We do not have to follow commands or be slaughtered. We do need to care for each other and make certain that we have water, food, shelter, fuel, community and livelihood. We are made to do this together, maybe not very well trained, but we can learn as we go.
This blog has quickly developed as a forum. It is not the only one.
We also need to really do things together, like grow food.

I am thankful that I met your substack channel!
It's so refreshing to read, see, and hear young (I am 62) intelligent people who love humanity and freedom. It's like to find a spring in the desert, really.
Thank you
