Doubling Down on Love: How to Stay Calm When It Hurts
A practical take for the crazy times
This story is one of those extremely imperfect outpours. It’s a follow-up to the one about the anatomy of forgiveness that I sent a few days ago. It was interesting to see the reaction, hence this follow-up.
Punchline
Let me start straight out with the punchline and identify the source of both forgiveness and general calm that seems to work for me.
Here it is (and I am being totally serious): the source is a philosophical, loving understanding of the fact that most people are f*cked up. That is true!
Once you understand it and accept the fact that a whole lot of people are extremely messed up, and you cannot change the world but can only do your—very important—part to shift it a tiny-teeny bit toward harmony, things get easier.
